Bad Dürkheim is a spa and wine town on the edge of the Palatinate Forest, and every September it hosts the Dürkheimer Wurstmarkt on the Brühlwiesen, the festival ground at the foot of the Michelsberg. In 2027 the fair runs from 10 to 14 and from 17 to 20 September. The town has already published its dates up to 2030.

The festival ground sits next to two landmarks you will hear about: the Gradierbau, a long wooden salt-evaporation building, and the Dürkheimer Riesenfass, a giant wine barrel that houses a restaurant.

Practical notes

  • The tourist information office is at Kurbrunnenstraße 21c and stays open every day from 9:30 am to 6 pm during the Wurstmarkt.
  • Tram and train stops are a short walk from the festival ground. During the fair, services are reinforced.
  • Rooms in the town go quickly for the two festival weekends. Neighbouring towns on the wine route are an option if you plan to travel back by train.
