Miami Beach

Miami Beach is a city of its own, on barrier islands across Biscayne Bay from Miami. South Beach, its southern end, is known for its Art Deco district and its long sandy beach. In 2027 the South Beach Wine & Food Festival runs here from 25 to 28 February.

Practical notes

• Miami International Airport is on the mainland, a drive across the causeways. Fort Lauderdale’s airport, to the north, is an alternative.
• Check the address of each festival event before you book a room.

After the festival

Three days after the 2027 edition ends, Charleston Wine + Food opens in South Carolina, from 3 to 7 March 2027.

What to eat in Miami Beach

Little Havana, in Miami, is the place for a Cuban sandwich, a café cubano or a cortadito. Stone crab claws are in season through the winter, and February falls within it. Key lime pie is on many menus. Miami’s Peruvian, Colombian and Venezuelan restaurants add more to the list.

Where to stay

South Beach has the Art Deco hotels and the beach. Mid-Beach and North Beach, further up the island, and Miami across the bay are the other bases.
