Practical tips for food tours in Mexico City
- Altitude. The city lies at about 2,240 metres: a long walk tires you faster, so drink water and keep the first day light.
- Getting there. The airport is east of the centre, on metro line 5. The metro reaches the Centro Histórico and Coyoacán. The Metrobús runs along Avenida Insurgentes, between Roma and Condesa.
- Stomach. Tell the operator about allergies and how much chilli you can take before the tour starts.
- Prices change. The figures here were read on the operators’ own sites on 4 October 2026. Resellers may charge differently.
