Bordeaux Fête le Vin is a wine festival held on the quays of Bordeaux, along the Garonne, every two years. It is organised by Bordeaux Tourisme & Congrès, the city’s tourist office, and the CIVB, the trade council of Bordeaux wines. In the organisers’ words, people come to taste, talk with winegrowers, follow an introductory workshop, or simply enjoy themselves with friends.

Entryfree: a tasting pass is needed to taste the wines

The 2027 festival takes place at the same time as the Tall Ships Races, Bordeaux 2027. The organisers were preparing a programme “worthy of this exceptional edition” when this page was checked, on 29 September 2026. The previous edition ran from 19 to 22 June 2025.

Tickets

Entry to the festival is free and open to all. To taste the wines, you need a Pass Dégustation, the tasting pass. Its 2027 price had not been published in the sources checked. Watch the practical information page of the official site.

What to taste

  • Bordeaux wines. Winegrowers and négociants pour the wines of the region’s appellations: red blends led by Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon, dry whites, sweet whites such as Sauternes, and rosés.
  • Local food. The organisers name oysters, cannelés and duck among the local specialities on offer. Oysters come from the Bassin d’Arcachon, south-west of the city. The cannelé is Bordeaux’s small caramelised cake with a soft centre.
  • A workshop. Introductory tasting workshops are part of the festival, useful if you want to learn how to taste before you start.

When to come

Five days and long opening hours, until 11 pm, leave room for an evening visit after a day in the city. July evenings on the quays are long and light. With the Tall Ships Races in town at the same time, a trip can take in both.

Getting there

Bordeaux Saint-Jean station has high-speed trains to Paris, the fastest in just over two hours, and Bordeaux-Mérignac airport is west of the city. The tram network serves the quays, where the Miroir d’eau, the reflecting pool facing the Place de la Bourse, is a short walk from the festival.

Where to stay and budget

The old town and the Chartrons district, near the festival site, put you on foot from the quays. Entry is free: the budget is the tasting pass, food, and the room. In France, alcohol may not be sold to anyone under 18.

Combine with

The guide compares château visits around Bordeaux, from tastings at the city’s edge to the Cité du Vin, whose ticket includes a glass at the Belvédère. Four weeks earlier, Lyon holds its Street Food Festival, from 10 to 13 June 2027.
