Map of Alba

Alba is the historic and economic capital of the Langhe, a small town in the province of Cuneo that gives its name to the white truffle. Each autumn it hosts the International Alba White Truffle Fair. The 2026 truffle market is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 October to 6 December in the Cortile della Maddalena.

The town also has a truffle museum, MUDET, in the same courtyard. It covers the biology of the truffle, the history of truffle hunting and the work of the trifulau, the local truffle hunters, and it is open every day except Tuesday outside the fair period. During the 2026 fair, the museum is included in the online ticket for the truffle market (6 euros plus booking fees).
