Map of Brighton

Brighton, on the Sussex coast, is linked to London by train. Its seafront, its pier and the narrow lanes of the old town draw day-trippers from the capital. In 2027 the Foodies Festival opens its tour here, in Preston Park, north of the centre, from Saturday 1 to Monday 3 May.

Practical notes

  • Preston Park station, one stop north of Brighton on the line to London, is next to the park.
  • The early May bank holiday falls on the Monday of the festival weekend.

On the tour

Preston Park hosts the first of the nine 2027 stops. From Brighton the tour moves to Bath (21 to 23 May), Syon Park in London (29 to 31 May) and St Albans (4 to 6 June), then takes a five-week pause.

What to eat in Brighton

On the seafront, fish and chips and seafood stalls are part of the walk along the beach. In the centre, the Lanes and North Laine are full of cafés, bakeries and independent food shops, and the city has a long-standing vegetarian and vegan restaurant scene. The South Downs, just inland, have vineyards making English sparkling wine.

Where to stay

The seafront and the streets around the Lanes are within a short bus or train ride of Preston Park.
