Food festivals in England, month by month
Seven of the nine stages of the 2027 Foodies Festival tour are in England, from Brighton, on the south coast, to Tatton Park, in Cheshire, in the north-west. The tour opens in Brighton on 1 May 2027 and closes in Oxford on 30 August 2027. In September, the Ludlow Food Festival brings producers from the Marches, the border country with Wales, into the grounds of Ludlow Castle, in south Shropshire. In 2026 it ran from 11 to 13 September. In London, London Cocktail Week, the city-wide cocktail festival, skips 2026 and moves to March 2027, exact dates not yet published. On the Isle of Wight, the Garlic Festival near Newchurch is held on the third weekend in August (21 and 22 August 2027).
Getting around England
Brighton, St Albans, Winchester, Oxford and Bath all have direct trains from London, and Syon Park is in west London itself. Tatton Park sits on the edge of Knutsford, south-west of Manchester. Ludlow station is on the Welsh Marches line between Shrewsbury and Hereford, a short walk from the castle.
What to eat and drink
England’s food traditions vary by county. The south coast has its fish and its Sussex vineyards, which make sparkling wine from the chalk. Somerset, around Bath, is the country of cider and Cheddar. Hampshire is known for watercress and trout from its chalk streams. Cheshire gives its name to a crumbly cheese. Ale, served in pubs, runs through all of it.
Where to stay
For the stages around London, the capital is a practical base, with trains out in the morning and back at night. Tatton Park, in the north-west, is better served from Knutsford or Manchester, and Ludlow from the town itself or from Hereford or Shrewsbury.
