Weekend · 10 days · Dates announced
Eurochocolate is the international chocolate festival of Perugia, the capital of Umbria, held in the streets and squares of the city’s hilltop historic centre. The organisers have announced the 2026 edition for Friday 13 to Sunday 22 November 2026, ten days that take in two weekends. When this page was checked, on 29 September 2026, they had published the dates and a first preview. The detailed 2026 programme was not yet online.
The festival has a long run behind it. The 2025 edition, from 14 to 23 November 2025, was its 31st, and entry was free (ingresso libero). This guide has no statement yet on the 2026 entry conditions, so check the official site before you travel.
What to taste
- Chocolate in the streets. Eurochocolate presents itself as an international chocolate festival, with the historic centre as its venue. The 2026 exhibitors were not listed when this page was checked.
- Baci, the local classic. The hazelnut Baci are the city’s best-known sweet.
- Umbrian food between two stands. Black truffle, lentils from Castelluccio and the cured pork of Norcia are the region’s staples, and Perugia’s restaurants serve them all year.
Practical tips
- Check the programme before booking. The festival spans two weekends. The 2026 programme will tell you which days carry the events you care about.
- Getting up to the centre. The historic centre sits on a hill above the railway station. The Minimetrò, an automated cable-driven shuttle, links the two.
- Leave the car below. Much of the historic centre is a restricted traffic zone. Use the car parks at the foot of the hill.
- Getting to Perugia. Regional trains connect Perugia with Florence and Rome. The city also has a small airport, Perugia San Francesco d’Assisi.
- Where to stay. The historic centre puts you a walk from the festival. The station area is linked to it by the Minimetrò.
