Cheese in Bra

Cheese is an event devoted to cheese, held in the town of Bra, in southern Piedmont, every two years. Its full Italian name, Cheese, le forme del latte, translates as “the forms of milk”. It is run by Slow Food, the food movement founded in Bra, together with the City of Bra. The 2025 edition was organised by both with the support of the Piedmont Region. Rather than one exhibition hall, the event spreads across the town: the tourist office lists “various places” in Bra.

Cheese in Bra 2027

The City of Bra gave the 2027 dates in its news item on the 2025 edition: “Arrivederci al 2027, dal 17 al 20 settembre Cheese torna a Bra!” The programme, the list of venues and any entry prices for 2027 had not been published in the sources checked on 29 September 2026. The official site, cheese.slowfood.it, is the place to watch.

What to taste

• Piedmont’s own cheeses. The region has several protected cheeses, among them Bra itself (Bra DOP, a cow’s milk cheese named after the town), Castelmagno, Raschera, Toma Piemontese and Robiola di Roccaverano. Bra’s shops and restaurants are a good place to taste them.
• Bra’s sausage. Salsiccia di Bra, a fine veal sausage, is the town’s other speciality.
• Langhe and Roero wines. Bra lies at the edge of the Roero. The Langhe are the hills of Barolo and Barbaresco.

When to come

Four days, from a Friday to a Monday, leave room for a weekend visit or a longer stay.

Getting there

Regional trains link Bra with Turin, the nearest large city, which has an airport at Caselle. Milan’s airports are further. Within Bra, the venues are spread over the town, so plan on walking between them.

Where to stay and budget

Bra is a small town with a limited number of hotels and guesthouses, and Cheese spreads over several of its venues for four days: reserve a room in town as soon as you settle on your days. Alba, to the east, and the villages of the Langhe and Roero are the other bases. Turin works for day trips by train. With no 2027 prices published yet, the budget rests on accommodation, transport and what you choose to taste and buy.
