Pizza Village

Naples’ pizza festival, free to enter in the evening: the 2026 edition ran from 7 to 12 July on the seafront of Pozzuoli. 2027 dates not yet published.

Pizza Village is a summer festival built around one dish, Neapolitan pizza. Its home page sums it up in Italian: “tutto gira intorno a lei, sua maestà la Pizza”, everything turns around her, Her Majesty the Pizza. It takes the form of an open-air village, open in the evening, with pizza at the centre and shows alongside. The organiser speaks of more than a million visitors each year.

The festival is presented as Pizza Village Napoli, but in 2026 it was set up on the Lungomare Pertini, the seafront of Pozzuoli, a town on the bay west of Naples, within its metropolitan area. Where the 2027 edition will be held, and on which dates, had not been published when this page was checked, on 6 October 2026. Watch the official site: it announces each edition, and the venue may change.

What to eat

  • The two Neapolitan classics. Start with the margherita (tomato, mozzarella, basil) and the marinara (tomato, garlic, oregano, no cheese): they are the measure of a pizza maker’s dough and oven.
  • Pizza fritta. The fried pizza of Naples, folded and filled, is the other local form, found across the city.
  • Something cold. July evenings by the sea stay warm: end the night with a gelato.

The art of the Neapolitan pizzaiuolo, the pizza maker, has been on UNESCO’s list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity since 2017.

Practical tips

  • Come in the evening. The village opens at 6 pm, and the evenings are cooler than the afternoons.
  • What the tickets are. Entry is free, according to the festival’s FAQ. What it sells online is a meal: one pizza and one drink, in 2026.
  • Getting to Pozzuoli. The town is linked to Naples by the Cumana railway and by metro line 2.
  • Abroad too. The brand runs beyond Naples: its events page listed a Berlin edition from 28 to 31 May 2026.

Where to stay and budget

For a pizza weekend, the historic centre of Naples is the base: the city’s own pizzerias are there, and so are the street food tours covered in this guide (three operators, 65.95 to 79.99 euros per adult). Entry to the village costs nothing. The budget is what you eat and drink, plus the trip to Pozzuoli.

Planning a trip for the next edition

The 2026 edition was a July week, and the 2026 event page gave the venue next to the dates: in 2026 it was Pozzuoli, not Naples itself. July is high season on the coast, so once the 2027 venue is known, pick a room on the line that serves it: from central Naples, the Cumana and metro line 2 both reach Pozzuoli. A pizza trip pairs well with the rest of Campania. Pompeii and Herculaneum are reached by the Circumvesuviana railway from Naples, and Pozzuoli itself has Roman remains, among them its amphitheatre.
