Oxford closes the Foodies Festival’s 2027 tour, from Saturday 28 to Monday 30 August 2027. The Monday is the summer bank holiday in England, so the stage covers a long weekend.

Around the festival

Oxford is a university city of college quadrangles, libraries and gardens on the Thames and the Cherwell. The Covered Market, in the centre, has traded since the 18th century, with butchers, bakers and cafés under one roof. Punting on the Cherwell and a pub lunch by the river round off a festival weekend. The Ashmolean Museum, free to enter, and the Botanic Garden, by the Cherwell, are close to the centre.

Getting there

Trains from London Paddington and London Marylebone take about an hour, and coaches run from London around the clock. Oxford station is west of the centre, a short walk from the colleges, and park-and-ride sites ring the city for drivers.

Where to stay

The centre has hotels and guesthouses near the colleges. The stage closes the tour on the last bank holiday weekend of the summer: settle the room before the train tickets, or stay in London, about an hour away.

Glasgow hosts the previous stage, from 13 to 15 August 2027. Brighton opened the tour from 1 to 3 May. The guide’s hub page lists all nine stages.
